Immanuel Lutheran Church and School

Part of the Danbury Community for over 140 years

First Grade

In Religion at Immanuel Lutheran School, we learn to know God, especially his constant love and forgiveness, to live happily as a member of His family, and to be a witness to His love.

In Reading, students are exposed to a phonetic word attack system and a wide range of quality literature to read. As students grow in their reading abilities, writing and spelling are reinforced.

In Handwriting, we practice the basic strokes and letters.

In Social Studies, we learn to appreciate the uniqueness and value of our world and its people.

We experience Science as a way of exploring the natural world in various ways.

Sorting, classifying, shapes, patterns, comparing, ordering, graphing, numbers to 100, measuring time, distance and money, addition and subtraction are all part of the Math curriculum.

WELCOME to 1st GRADE

HELLO! I am so excited to teach first grade again this year. at Immanuel and my 29th year as an educator.

I have been married for 32 years and have 3 children and I have a crazy German Shepherd.

When I am not at school I like to take long drives with my hubby and explore the surrounding area.

I am a pilates junkie. I love to read, especially poetry. I am a second-year doctoral student at WESTCON.
